Game Development Systems
Built from Real Projects

I’ve spent nearly two decades working in game development – across production, design and leadership.

My focus is on building structured, practical systems that help teams manage complexity, make better decisions and deliver games under real conditions.

From early-stage concepts to shipped titles, across teams scaling up to 70+ people.

What I Do

I design and share practical systems for game development.

This includes production models, decision frameworks and structured approaches to planning, scope, execution and team alignment.

My work connects multiple areas of development – production, game design and leadership – because most real problems sit at the intersection of these domains.

The goal is simple: make game development more predictable, more structured and easier to manage without slowing teams down.

Playbook Series

A structured system for game development, broken into focused volumes covering alignment, planning, execution, risk and team dynamics.

Workbook

A practical, hands-on tool designed to help teams and individuals apply production and decision frameworks directly in their work.

Content & Media

Articles, video breakdowns and podcast-style content focused on real-world development challenges and systems thinking.

Background

I’ve worked in game development for almost 20 years as a developer, founder and production leader.

My experience includes building teams, scaling projects and working across different stages of development – from early concepts to live products.

Over time, I’ve focused increasingly on how decisions are made, how systems are structured and how teams maintain alignment under pressure.

These areas consistently determine whether projects move forward smoothly or begin to break down.

How I Approach Game Development

Game development is a system of interconnected decisions.

Scope affects planning. Planning affects execution. Execution affects quality and team stability.

My approach is based on making these connections explicit and manageable.

This includes:

  • clear decision ownership

  • controlled scope and trade-offs

  • capacity-aware planning

  • production systems that reduce chaos

The goal is to build environments where teams can operate with clarity, even under pressure.

Where to Find My Work

You can explore my work across different formats:

  • LinkedIn – articles and weekly insights on game development
  • YouTube – video versions and breakdowns
  • Amazon – books and publications

Producers

Looking for better control over planning, scope and execution.

Designers

Working with systems, gameplay and needing structure to support decisions.

Team Leads

Managing teams and alignment across disciplines.

Outside of Work

I spend a lot of time playing games, watching TV shows and creating content.

I also share my space with three Maine Coon cats, who tend to follow clearer systems than most development teams.
